My heart is happy to bring this practice to you, since it’s been my life focus to merge spirituality with creativity, specifically in painting. Each lesson will begin with a Guided Meditation to soften the edges and cultivate trust and curiosity.
This course is supreme for watercolor beginners or anyone seeking mindfulness in their creative process. We will explore various color and brush techniques, while cultivating curiosity and playfulness. I am a lover of abstraction, for it leaves room for imagination, imperfection, and bravery. My intention is to guide you through an exploratory creative process that is not only relaxing, but will ignite the artist within you!

YOU DO NOT NEED to be a “creative” or an “artist” or have the best quality art supplies, a simple starter kit will do fine, better than fine! This should not feel stressful or overwhelming, for this is about exploring new creative possibilities. As you grow confidence you will eventually want to invest in higher quality art supplies, and I will suggest my personal favorites.

What You Will Learn in Each Lesson:
Lesson 1. Exploring Your Colors
In this lesson you will explore a personal connection and meaning to colors. An introduction to a colorfield painter and her work. Cultivate curiosity with color blending, gradient, and layering techniques. And learn a breathing technique to balance the nervous system to create inner clarity for creativity.
Lesson 2. Unraveling Shapes + Patterns
This lesson will inspire playfulness and move beyond boundaries. An introduction to an artist that creates magical infinity experiences. Here we will explore mark making, patterns, repetition techniques. And learn a breathing technique to purify any doubts or fear to move beyond our comfort zone.
Lesson 3. Observe Your Surroundings
This lesson will inspire stillness and observation, allowing creativity to unearth naturally around us. In this lecture we will explore the artwork of a famous painter from New Mexico that invites us to look deeper. Exploring flowing, blooming, and glazing watercolor techniques. And practice a breathing meditation to soften the edges and invite serenity and ease.
Lesson 4. Garden of Imagination
This lesson is about cultivating courage, for art is the mere act of bravery. We will learn about an artist that painted beautiful garden landscapes and use his words for creative nourishment. Exploring compositional elements, light to dark and transparency techniques. And practice a life force breathing meditation for awakening and energising our creative spirit.
Your Instructor
Visual artist and Yoga Teacher, Jenny has been teaching art and yoga for over 6 years. She holds an MFA in Studio Art and Design and BA in Art History. The common thread in all of her creative endeavours is radical self-love, exploring practices that nourish the soul.
